Hörmann-Reisen GmbH has switched its entire fleet of coaches to the Setra brand. The firm from Augsburg has laid down a clear marker for the future with a total of three new S 431 DT double-decker buses with Euro VI engines and five S 516 HDs from Setra’s ComfortClass 500 family. Managing Director Philipp Hörmann says: “This is the biggest investment in the almost 80-year history of our company and offers clear proof that Setra products fully meet our high standards.”

In collaboration with Setra’s development, production and sales departments, Hörmann has come up with some new solutions for even greater comfort with this large-scale order. These include the first rear entrance to be installed on an HD as well as an exclusive rear galley for high-quality passenger catering. For this reason, Heinz Friedrich was not going too far when, at the official handover in front of over 200 invited tour guests at the Setra Customer Centre in Neu Ulm, he stated: “Hörmann’s sky-high standards with regard to coach travel have led to a number of innovations, with the result that we can justifiably maintain that there are no other vehicles like these anywhere in the world.” Philipp Hörmann, too, is proud of the creative collaboration between the two companies: “Working hand in hand, we’ve succeeded in designing unique touring coaches. Our customers are the pillars that support the company. They will now breathe life into the Setra buses on all their travels.”

Classified with five stars and offering exclusive travel, the S 431 DTs each accommodate 68 passengers, who are served by tour guides with food and drink from the spacious galley. One of the signature highlights of the double-decker buses is the Setra TopSky Panorama glass sunroof, which provides passengers on the upper deck with an entirely new sense of space. A better view is impossible.

Both of the two-axle S 516 HDs, which will be used in future for the firm’s European touring operations, are also equipped with a rear toilet as well as a rear galley for the catering service. Offering room for 40 passengers, the five-star ComfortClass 500 buses are the first models of this generation of touring coaches, which was launched in 2012, to be delivered with a rear entrance.

Trusting in tried-and-tested Setra quality, Hörmann-Reisen GmbH is also set to go new ways. The company is expanding its operations with three additional S 516 HDs and will now also be active in long-distance passenger transport as a cooperation partner. The two-axle 48-seater ComfortClass 500 models will go into service on a number of new routes, including between Munich and Vienna.

Hörmann-Reisen GmbH operates across the whole of Europe with 19 Setra buses

Hörmann-Reisen GmbH has been a partner of the Ulm-based Setra brand for 10 years. Having started life in 1900 with a messenger carriage between Rehling and Augsburg, the family-run business from Fuggerstadt in Bavaria now boasts 19 luxuriously appointed touring coaches. Hörmann guarantees a five-star service. As far as passengers are concerned, this means even more legroom on group and individual tours across the whole of Europe.
