New passenger car registrations in the UK remained flat in August, rising by just 0.1% year-on-year to 59,433 units, compared with 59,346 units in August 2011.
According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), August represents a small volume month, accounting for around 3% of the total car market
