Russian decline slows as scrappage incentive kicks in

A 9.9% decline is 'anything but great', but the recent depreciation of the Rouble and the scrappage incentive are starting to lure buyers into showrooms.

Light vehicle sales in Russia continued to decline in October, but at a more moderate rate than seen in the past few months. Total sales of new passenger cars and LCVs fell 9.9% last month to 211,365 units, according to figures from the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC). This puts year-to-date figures at 1,991,312 units.
