Today, only around 8% of cars coming out of factories are connected in some way, but this will soon change. By 2020 about one-quarter of all cars will be online, bringing with them many opportunities for the automotive industry. With these opportunities, however, also come challenges, but the ultimate goal is to make cars that are safer, cleaner and more secure.
These challenges were addressed in the recent ACEA Connected Car debate on 4 December, which took place in Brussels, Belgium and addressed the upcoming opportunities and challenges that the connected car will bring to the automotive industry.
