Yaroslavl Fuel Systems Plant of GAZ Group, a part of Basic Element, one of Russia’s largest diversified industrial holdings, has developed a full range of Euro V compliant high-pressure fuel pumps for Common Rail system. The fuel pumps are designed for in-line and V-engines produced by Russian engine manufacturers.
GAZ Group’s Yaroslavl Fuel Systems Plant (YaZDA) has developed Euro V compliant high-pressure fuel pumps for Common Rail system. These products are designed for diesel engines produced by Russian manufacturers, such as Yaroslavl Engine Plant, KAMAZ and others. Currently Euro V compliant YaMZ-534 engines fitted with YaZDA fuel pumps and Bosch fuel system elements are successfully passing road tests being installed on GAZon NEXT trucks and PAZ buses. Common Rail type fuel systems with YaZDA pumps have successfully passed certification tests being installed on KAMAZ engines.
Currently Euro IV compliant YaMZ V-engines use fuel pumps operating at a pressure of 1,600 bar. While designing this pump YaZDA specialists envisaged a possibility of boosting it up to 2,000 bar. This available pressure reserve subject to relevant modification of the ECU firmware and adjustment of exhaust gases catalytic conversion systems allowed meeting the Euro V specification.
The new Common Rail fuel pump for YaMZ-530 engines produces a pressure of 2,000 bar with a potential for boosting up to 2,500 bar which allows high-quality fuel dispersion and stable engine operation.
A pilot batch of Euro V compliant fuel pumps for in-line and V-engines will be produced by YaZDA in the autumn of this year and the mass production will begin starting from January 2016.

This project aims to ensure that YaZDA products remain competitive for years to come. Implementation of this project will allow increasing the YaZDA production volumes already in the near future. The new fuel systems can be supplied to all Russian manufacturers of high-speed engines used not just for trucks and buses, but also for marine vessels and rail vehicles.

The tests of the pump installed on an engine have confirmed its high reliability. Design solutions applied in the new pump ensure that the engine is less demanding of fuel quality, which allows vehicles operate efficiently also on low-grade fuel that is till quite common in Russia.
