- Presentation of the new Mercedes-Benz V-Class during Tokyo Motor Show and Dubai International Motor Show
- Sales of the comfortable MPV from Mercedes-Benz Vans maintain rapid growth
The new Mercedes-Benz V-Class was presented to the Japanese public at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show and will become available in Japan as of January 2016. With the start of sales in Japan, the new MPV is setting out to make its mark in a further important right-hand-drive market, after Great Britain. This week the V-Class is also presented at the Dubai International Motor Show and will become available from spring 2016 onwards in markets like the United Arab Emirates and other countries in Middle East. Since its market launch in 2014 the V-Class has proved itself internationally successful. Sales increased by 22 percent to 24 900 units in the first ten months of this year. The V-Class is now available from Mercedes-Benz passenger car and commercial vehicle dealers in more than 90 countries.
According to Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans: “The rapid growth of V-Class sales underlines that our MPV suits our customers’ taste – and does so all over the world. I am convinced that the quality and the many opportunities for individualisation offered by the V-Class will also appeal to our customers in markets like Japan or Dubai.”
“By the way we will be extending our V-Class portfolio further in 2016 with new features such as the AMG Line or the largest panoramic roof in the segment”, says Volker Mornhinweg.
V-Class from 2016 with an even wider range of equipment features
The end of 2015 will see the start of sales for the sporty V-Class AMG Line that will be at dealerships as of spring 2016. The V-Class AMG Line adopts the striking design features that characterise the performance and sports car brand Mercedes-AMG. These include redesigned front and rear aprons, distinctive side sill panels, 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels and an additional spoiler lip. The hallmark AMG touches are continued in the interior with silver chrome air vents, sports pedals in brushed aluminium and carbon-fibre-look trim as well as a black roof liner.
New equipment features enhance comfort and functionality of the MPV. Also available from spring 2016 will be a panoramic roof, a large centre console with integrated refrigerated compartment and LED-illuminated insulated cup holders as well as iPad holders in the rear.
