Global truck production is expected to grow slowly though 20120, at a CGAR of about 3%, according to Power Systems Research (PSR), a leading a leading source of engine production data. The forecast applies to medium-heavy vehicles, 6 tons and more.

PSR, based in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, has been collecting, analyzing and forecasting engine and power train production and applications since since 1976.

Jinal Shah, PSR manager of South Asia operations, presented the forecast at the Automotive Megatrends India 2015 conference here Dec. 2-3. An estimated 600 executives from the automotive and commercial vehicle indusries are expected to participate in the event.

Shah told the gathering that South Asia is expected to lead the way with 8% CAGR growth. North America is expected to be flat, and PSR sees China dropping by 4%.
