Paccar, the manufacturer of Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, and parent of DAF Trucks, is notoriously cautious in product development, invariably hesitating to follow its competitors in embracing innovation. It justifies its conservative approach by pointing to its long-maintained record of profitability.
