Over the years, the Geneva motor show has become known for green tech and luxury. On neutral territory, the first major European automotive industry event since the VW scandal broke presented a spectacular opportunity for the industry to come out fighting; an opportunity to convince consumers - and regulators - that it is doing all it can to deliver products that are clean and desirable; and a chance to show its commitment to the spirit of the COP21 climate change agreement.
