During FY2015, global sales at Volvo Cars reached a record 503,127 units, representing an 8% increase compared to the previous year. The OEM recorded an operating profit of SEK6.6bn (US$779m), while revenue grew from SEK16bn to SEK19bn between 2014 and 2015.
Looking ahead to the future, Håkan Samuelsson, President and Chief Executive, Volvo Cars, told international press at Geneva Motor Show 2016, “We will grow, but we will not grow fat. Improving productivity is always a priority. We have come a long way in the last five years, but we still have a long way to go.”
