Kia recently announced that it is targeting a 25% global improvement to average fleet fuel efficiency by 2020 compared to 2014 levels. Internal combustion engine (ICE) development will play an important role – the company has expressed intentions to replace seven out of ten current engine ranges, while increasing the number of downsized and turbocharged units.
It also plans to expand its “green car line-up” from four models to 11. How many of these cars will be electrified, and could Kia introduce alternative engine architectures like fuel cell vehicles (FCVs)?
