The Children’s Trust, a charity that offers residential and community-based rehabilitation services for children and young people with a brain injury, has welcomed a new Brit-built Vauxhall Vivaro onto its fleet.
The Vivaro Combi minibus, bought by the charity thanks to funding from The Presidents Club Charitable Trust, London, was converted by Gowrings and will be used to provide stress-free transport to children receiving rehabilitation. Thanks to the Vivaro’s removable second and third row bench seats it is easily adaptable and is also wheelchair accessible, making it the perfect choice for The Children’s Trust.
A whole life cost analysis run by vehicle suppliers, Lex Autolease, showed the Vauxhall Vivaros to be the most cost-effective models when compared to vehicles of the same size and function.
The Children’s Trust provides community services and rehabilitation to children and young people with acquired brain injury, as well as investing in research. The charity also offers a purpose built school for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex medical needs aged three upwards. Located at The Children’s Trust’s national specialist centre in Tadworth, Surrey, the residential school also has a number of day places.
This means a minibus is essential to help transport disabled children to and from the centre.

“When families arrive at The Children’s Trust, they have often spent months in hospital since the accident or illness that caused their child’s brain injury. Visits home, hospital appointments and outings are crucial to every child’s rehabilitation, so having new accessible vehicles to make this stress free is a big deal that makes a real difference to the children and families that come here.”

The minibus was unveiled by some of the children at the Trust during a special launch party on Thursday, March 31.
