NHTSA expands and accelerates Takata recalls

Following confirmation that moisture and humidity are at the root of Takata airbag failures, NHTSA has announced a further 35 to 40 million recalls in the US. By Xavier Boucherat

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has described the Takata airbag inflator recall as “the largest and most complex safety recall in US history,” following the announcement of plans to phase in an additional 35 to 40 million vehicle recalls
