There’s still time to secure the autonomous car

Covisint’s Chief Security Officer tells Freddie Holmes that in terms of cyber security, the autonomous car of the future is at no greater risk than a car with ADAS features today

High profile vehicle hacks are few and far between, but even one breach cannot be ignored. With discussions around vehicle autonomy progressing to the point where government regulators and OEMs are in close-knit public talks, the driverless car could soon be just around the bend. But who’s in control, and is it about to crash? A question many would put down to paranoia, but David Miller, Chief Security Officer at Covisint, thinks otherwise.
