Itatiaia, the latest stage in JLR’s globalisation

The new Jaguar Land Rover factory in Brazil is another step on the OEM’s journey to true international status, writes Ian Henry

Although Jaguar Land Rover’s Brazilian factory has been assembling the Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport since February this year, it only officially opened in June. The OEM has committed £240m (R$750m, US$320m) to the facility, with most of this spent already on building construction, production equipment, tooling and training.
