Mercedes-Benz Vans' global aspirations took a big step forward with the recent groundbreaking of its new Sprinter plant in the US. The OEM is investing US$500m in the expansion of the existing van assembly site. Production of the next-generation Sprinter is scheduled to begin before the end of the decade.
