Interview: Josh Switkes, Chief Executive, Peloton Technology

Peloton believes its approach to commercial vehicle platooning can keep drivers alert whilst reducing fatigue. Freddie Holmes spoke to its Chief Executive to find out more

Those interested in road cycling may be familiar with the term ‘peloton’, where a pack of riders conserve energy by slipstreaming behind other cyclists. The trucking industry has recognised an opportunity to replicate this on highways, and has been developing various so-called ‘platooning’ systems that allow trucks to travel in a close-knit convoy. In the US, platooning is currently allowed in demonstration and testing form across ten states, including Nevada, California, Utah, Michigan, Florida and Texas.
