In May 2015, ZF completed the acquisition of safety specialist TRW for US$11.7bn, forming the second largest automotive supplier in the world. The incoming business has since been incorporated into ZF under the newly formed ‘Active & Passive Safety Technology’ division, with the combined company continuing to operate under the ZF Friedrichshafen AG banner.
