Safety tackled ‘in a completely new way’ with complex vehicle designs

Michael Nash shares insight from Delphi about the future complexity of connected, autonomous vehicles, and the safety challenges involved

CES is becoming a platform for an ever-broader range of automotive technologies, from hands-free voice command devices to active safety systems. It provides OEMs, suppliers and tech companies with the opportunity to showcase their latest gizmos and gadgets ahead of the Detroit Auto Show, which in contrast focuses more on the traditional themes of powertrain and performance.

Several companies have already outlined plans for their appearances at CES in January 2017. Delphi has been attending the show for 21 years. It has championed the phrase 'safe, green and connected' for a number of years, and will continue the theme in 2017. The supplier hopes to centre its future product portfolio upon the convergence of these three industry megatrends, with safety topping the list.
