The city bus of the future is going to be electric and Volvo is leading the charge. The company has been pursuing developments in this area for more than a decade and today boasts a range of hybrid, electric hybrid and pure electric models. Since its first hybrid launched in 2010, sales have grown steadily and so far Volvo has sold about 3,000 of these buses to customers across 22 countries.
"We have a long history here. This 3,000-unit announcement shows that we have been around for awhile and are all in on electrification," said Magnus Broback, Director City Mobility, Volvo Buses.
