Western Star Trucks announced today the availability of a special edition 50th anniversary graphics package.
Western Star is continuing to pay tribute to its past while looking forward to its future by offering to customers a modern adaptation of graphics packages commonly found on Western Star trucks in the late 1970s.
The special edition 50th anniversary graphics package, aka “Wings of Awesomeness”, is available as a factory installed vinyl package or paint scheme. It can be ordered across the 5700XE, 4900, 4800 and 4700 product line-ups and works well with any color truck. The package can be ordered through the end of 2017.
“We really wanted to offer our customers something awesome to celebrate and commemorate the 50th anniversary of Western Star trucks. After months of researching our archives and hundreds of amazing custom paint schemes from the 1970s and 1980s, we finally settled on the ‘wings’ scheme which debuted on show trucks displayed at the 1979 Anaheim Truck Show” said Andy Johnson, Brand Manager, Western Star Trucks. “They still look badass and we thought it would be a fun way to give tribute to the past if we offered a modern adaptation for the year.”
The silver and gold “Wings of Awesomeness” package is available in either high-quality vinyl or factory paint and are available for order now. Customers interested in this option are asked to contact their nearest dealer.
