Power management company Eaton today announced its Power Xpert 1.5 and 2.0-megawatt energy storage inverters are certified to meet Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 1741 standard by Intertek. The Power Xpert energy storage inverters and Eaton’s complete portfolio of energy storage balance of system solutions will be on display at the Energy Storage Association (ESA) Annual Conference, April 18 to 20 in booth #526 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

“The UL listing is increasingly sought after for large-scale projects and will allow more customers to tap Eaton energy storage technologies and expertise,” said Chris Thompson, grid power business unit manager, Eaton. “The Power Xpert inverters are a central part of Eaton’s equipment portfolio for storage applications. When combined in package solutions with Eaton’s medium-voltage transformers and interconnection switchgear, customers can rapidly deploy compact technologies designed to meet a variety of grid service requirements.”

Over the last few years, Eaton has supplied energy storage inverters on projects using a wide array of lithium-ion and flow-battery chemistries in the U.S., Canada, Korea and China. The Eaton energy storage inverters are designed to increase electrical resiliency in large-scale applications and provide customers with high-power technology that supports precise power ramp rate control and frequency regulation to enhance the reliability of electrical power transmission and distribution. Eaton’s Power Xpert energy storage inverters are assembled in the U.S.

Eaton is leveraging more than 100 years of experience and expertise in utility and industrial environments to bring to market its Power Xpert energy storage utility-scale inverters.
