Kia sticks close to Hyundai on Indian entry

Kia has long been looking to enter India and has finally settled on a location. By Megan Lampinen

It's official - Kia will build cars in India near its sister company Hyundai. Located in the city of Vijayawada, a part of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, the new US$1.1bn plant will be Kia's first in India and should start rolling out vehicles by the second half of 2019. Andrah Pradesh was rumoured to be the favoured location given its proximity to Hyundai's operations in Tamil Nadu.
