Self-driving interiors: ‘technically, everything is possible’

As all vehicle occupants become passengers, interior design will change dramatically to suit new activity and movement options, writes Megan Lampinen

Designing vehicle interiors is challenging enough in light of the growing amount of in-car technology, particularly connected and intelligent technology. Taking this up a notch to fully autonomous driving, however, is a whole new ball game in terms of design innovation. For suppliers, the challenge is to design an interior in which everybody is a passenger.
