Natural gas a ‘viable replacement for diesel’ in long-haul applications

A buzz hangs over the word electrification in the automotive industry. While often associated with the passenger vehicle sector, it has recently branched to commercial vehicles (CVs) after companies like Cummins and Nikola unveiled their electric heavy-duty truck concepts.

However, natural gas (NG) remains an important alternative to diesel in the CV sector, and new market entrants could boost the market.
