India is keen to electrify transport to tackle serious pollution concerns, and few segments offer such potential as trucks and buses. CVs accounted for about 28% of India's total vehicle fleet in 2015, millions of which consisted of high polluting diesel engines. "The electrification of these vehicles will go a long way in addressing this problem as well as meeting stricter emissions targets which are set to come into play by 2020," commented Fabrice Gatwabuyege, Automobiles Analyst, BMI Research.
