EU regulations accelerate EV development, says Nissan

With all OEMs under pressure to improve average fleet emissions across Europe, Nissan is upping the ante with powertrain electrification, learns Freddie Holmes

Nissan stands by its big bet on electric vehicles (EVs), and believes the European market will become a key facilitator of plug-in sales volumes in future.

Indeed, part of Nissan’s future product portfolio is founded on ‘intelligent power’ – that is, clean vehicle propulsion. While this will include significant refinements to the internal combustion engine (ICE), it will focus on the move away from fossil fuels and towards power cables.
