Mobility services are booming and growing interest in alternative approaches to transport are spurring new business models. Individuals today face a wide range of options, from ride-share and taxis to public transport or vehicle rental. However, it remains a decidedly fragmented sector, lacking a facilitated portal and a clear protocol. This isn't good for consumers or service providers.

HERE Mobility, the separate business division set up by HERE Technologies, is tackling the problem through its new Open Mobility Marketplace software solution. It is designed to act as a central hub for supplying and requesting mobility services. It promises to increase exposure for suppliers and help customers with comparing and selecting the best mobility options. Liad Itzhak, Vice President and Head of HERE Mobility, believes the end game is to democratise mobility by setting a new standard of equality for all players in the ecosystem.
