Vauxhall has handed over the keys to 69 new vans to housing association, Tai Tarian, helping the company to continue its work across Neath Port Talbot, South Wales.

Providing social housing to residents across the borough of Neath Port Talbot, Tai Tarian is one of the largest social landlords in Wales. The Vauxhall models, which include Combo, Movano and Vivaro vans, will be used across multiple trades as part of its property management and maintenance work, covering over 9,000 properties.

“With our previous ageing fleet of light commercial vehicles we were keen to source a fleet of reliable, aesthetically pleasing, fuel efficient vehicles that could help us continue to improve our carbon footprint,” said Mair Jones, Fleet Manager at Tai Tarian. “We believe that Vauxhall are the perfect fit for us taking these aims into consideration. The vehicles look great with their conversions and new livery design, they will serve to improve our visibility and reputation in the community in which we work.”

Tai Tarian specified its Vivaros with bespoke racking, the flexibility of the space enabling the vehicle’s to be modified for the exact purposes they are required to fulfil. This gives the drivers added convenience and means they can undertake their roles more efficiently. The Vivaro order included a mixture of panel van and double cab body styles.

Tai Tarian also took advantage of the huge choice within the Movano range, Vauxhall’s heavy van offering, opting for a selection including panel vans, chassis cabs and crew cabs. Their Combo choice, Vauxhall’s award-winning small van, included panel vans and crew vans.

Vauxhall were awarded the contract to supply Tai Tarian following a tender process conducted by TPPL (The Procurement Partnership Ltd), through the Hertfordshire County Council Contract Hire Framework Agreement, which is managed and administered by TPPL and available to TPPL’s customers within the public sector.

“TPPL worked closely with Tai Tarian to establish the fleet requirements the customer had, whilst identifying key operational challenges they had previously experienced,” said James Brennan, Director at TPPL. “This process enabled TPPL to work with Tai Tarian to structure a compliant mini tender, allowing the customer to evaluate and award the contract to a leasing provider who understood and committed to meeting their needs in the day to day running and upkeep of the fleet.”

Tai Tarian considered various Frameworks available to them, and decided the TPPL/Hertfordshire County Council Contract Hire Framework Agreement was most suitable for their requirements. The tender process involved the award of a leasing provider appointed to the Framework, who following award, worked closely with Tai Tarian to provide an ongoing service that suited the needs of their business. The contract was awarded to Sinclair Finance and Leasing, an independently-owned leasing company who are based near to Tai Tarian.

“Sinclair Finance & Leasing are proud to have the opportunity to provide fleet services to Tai Tarian for the funding and ongoing maintenance of their fleet of commercial vehicles,” said Thomas Jenkins from Sinclair Finance & Leasing. “We continue to work closely with Vauxhalls Fleet Team to ensure that the vehicles chosen are suitable for the job needs of the employees at Tai Tarian and we are confident that this working partnership will be of great benefit to the client.”

“We are proud to continue our work with customers such as Tai Tarian Housing Association,” said James Taylor, Vauxhall’s Fleet Sales Director. “We have enjoyed great success with the our award-winning van range, catering for the needs of businesses across the country.”
