BIOGRAPHY
With a multi-decade career in technology and finance, Michael Jackson is the most recent addition to the Volvo Car Corporation Board of Directors. An engineer by education, he held positions with the BBC, Digital Mobile Communications, Motorola and NKT before joining telecom firm Tele2 in 1996, where he was instrumental in expanding the company’s mobile business in Europe. In 2004, he joined Skype as Chief Operating Officer, contributing to the company’s operational growth. Since 2007, he has been a partner at Mangrove Capital focusing on investments in technology start-ups. Apart from his role at Volvo Car Corporation, Mr Jackson also holds board positions with the UK arm of insurance firm AXA, Blockchain and KNEIP Communications.
