Matt Vella has joined Polestar’s global Public Relations and Communications team. Following a career in technology and business journalism, Matt is responsible for global media relations, helping to deliver and amplify Polestar’s product, brand and corporate messaging.
“Since the launch of Polestar in October 2017, we have been building the awareness of our new electric performance brand and our first car, the Polestar 1,” says Duncan Forrester, responsible for global public relations and communications. “We have established three regions – Europe, North America and China, each with their own PR and Communications function – and we now complete the team. With Matt’s extensive experience as an innovative storyteller, he will be invaluable in building relationships with the world’s most influential media audiences, helping us continue to tell the Polestar story.”
Matt joins Polestar as an award-winning writer and editor with over 15 years of experience. Most recently, he was Time Magazine’s executive editor responsible for leading major enterprise reporting projects. Matt is also the co-founder of Brainstorm Design, an annual global innovation and design conference. Previously, he worked at publications including Fortune, BusinessWeek and The Wall Street Journal.
“In my years of covering technology and business, I’ve never come across a company as unique as Polestar. It’s both an ambitious and agile start-up, as well as a firm backed by the expertise and credibility of its parent company to make good on its significant promises,” says Matt Vella. “With Polestar also acting as the technology spearhead for Volvo Car Group, I’m looking forward to helping to tell the numerous engineering, design and innovation stories happening here every day.”
