Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Ltd has teamed up with the FTA Van Excellence Programme to find a Hero of the Year, who will be crowned at the inaugural FTA Van Excellence Honours, 6 November 2018.
The first FTA Van Excellence Honours Lunch will celebrate the ‘best of the best’ van operators, their achievements in the van industry and recognise and reward businesses that place safety and compliance at the heart of their operations. The Hero of the Year Award, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Vans, seeks to recognise the outstanding and selfless acts of valour or kindness by an individual driver.
Andy Eccles, Head of Fleet at Mercedes-Benz Vans, commented: “We are proud to champion van drivers for keeping the nation moving. The Hero of the Year award cements just how important this hard-working community is by rewarding the van driver who has gone above and beyond for the benefit of others.
“This award is open to every van driver in Great Britain who has undertaken a heroic act – perhaps there is a van driver who has saved someone’s life while out working, or someone who has undertaken amazing feats in order to raise money for charity – we’d love to celebrate these stories and crown the Hero of the Year at the FTA Van Excellence Honours.”
