Blockchain will benefit trucking sector, but it won’t arrive overnight

The meteoric rise (and subsequent slump) of cryptocurrencies has drawn much attention to blockchain, the underlying technology that makes decentralised currencies possible. Volatile values, regulatory challenges and increasing concern for their impact on the environment mean that the future of Bitcoin and its predecessors is uncertain. However, blockchain is almost certainly here to stay, with several industries now exploring the potential for applications, including the commercial vehicle and freight sectors.
