DuPont showcases lightweight solutions for automotive structural parts
DuPont Transportation & Advanced Polymers (T&AP), a business unit of DowDuPont Specialty Products Division, will demonstrate lightweighting and alternative drivetrain technologies that are essential to achieving sustainable mobility goals during the Plastics in Automotive Engineering (PIAE) show taking place on 3-4 April 2019 in Mannheim, Germany.
The automotive industry is working continuously on innovative light-weight solutions combined with parts and functions integration to help reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Exhibiting at Stand 19, DuPont T&AP will feature advanced polymers and structural adhesives that deliver ease of assembly, long-term durability and strong, lightweight, electrically-friendly solutions for HEV and EV applications.
Experts from DuPont will host an interactive workshop during PIAE to spotlight material developments and design optimization of thermoplastic structural parts to speed prototyping and improve the performance of finished parts:
April 3, 2019 14:30-15:30, seminar room 3.9 (Level 2) – “Lightweight solutions for automotive structural parts in highly-reinforced thermoplastics and plastic/metal hybrid systems” Presented by: Mattia Sulmoni, senior design consultant, and Luis Canal Casado, R&D materials engineer, both of DuPont T&AP
DuPont T&AP offers a complete package system for automotive structural parts combining engineering plastics, plastic metal hybrid solutions, rubber to substrate bonding agents, adhesives, and brings strong expertise in designing components and processing support.
