IAA Experience: the latest mobility trends

In September, Frankfurt am Main will once again become the city of mobility

In September, Frankfurt am Main will once again become the city of mobility. From September 12 to 22 the IAA, Europe’s leading mobility platform, invites families, trade visitors, (e-)mobility experts and anyone with an interest to experience the future of mobility right here and now. The IAA Experience will bring a broad range of different experiences to the trade fair grounds, for example an E-Move track for e-bikes and e-scooters, a self-driving shuttle bus, an outdoor circuit and the Kids World. The IAA’s four pillars – the IAA Experience, the IAA Conference, the IAA Exhibition and the IAA Career – will provide a wide variety of options for interaction.

VDA President Bernhard Mattes stated, “We are delighted that this year’s IAA will offer all participants and visitors an extensive program meeting the individual mobility needs of our visitors. Our multi-disciplinary approach and the four new formats make it possible to experience the future of mobility with all the senses – in a discussion format at the IAA Conference or through the latest model premieres at the IAA Exhibition; live on an e-scooter on the E-Move track or interactive and connected at our IAA Career. Experiencing the future of mobility has never been as varied, interdisciplinary and immediate as at this IAA.” VDA Managing Director Dr. Martin Koers added: “Both today and in the future, the IAA will be a platform that not only highlights technologies and innovations but also turns them into an experience. This means that today at the IAA participants can all try out forward-looking technologies that will be on our roads tomorrow.”

The future of mobility at the IAA Experience

The test drives on the west open-air site (F10) will give visitors a first-hand experience of the latest mobility trends. Established brands such as Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, KIA, Renault/Dacia, Volkswagen and Ionity are inviting visitors to take test drives and try out the latest developments for themselves. A self-driving shuttle bus from Continental will carry visitors across the IAA grounds.

On-board cameras will transmit these personal experiences – on the outdoor site or in the city – for spectators to see on the IAA stage.

The E-Move track brings e-mobility and light vehicles together. Participants will have an opportunity to try out e-bikes and experience e-scooters – away from the traffic on public roads. The track offers a banked curve, a rumble strip, various types of terrain and more.

The ramps and inclines of the open-air off-road circuit on the Agora will give outdoor fans in particular some special driving experiences. Here brands such as Audi, Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen complete the program by presenting off-road vehicles and SUVs of various sizes – including vehicles with electric drive. Food courts and many other offers make the Agora an arena for a wide variety of experiences.

Younger visitors can discover the future of mobility through play in the Kids World. An exciting “treasure hunt”, exhibitors’ activities and special shows will also enable youngsters to experience the future of mobility in a totally novel way. In addition, the new family ticket (35 euros for two adults and up to three children) includes a voucher for two free soft drinks.
