Grupo Antolin reached sales of €3,850 million in the first nine month of 2019

The company is working on a new strategic plan from 2020 onwards in order to lead the new mobility which is transforming the industry

Grupo Antolin, one of the largest manufacturers of vehicle interiors in the world, achieved sales amounting to €3,850 million in the first nine months of 2019, compared to €3,905 million in the same period the year before.

Grupo Antolin’s sales continue to outperform worldwide automotive production because of the new projects that have been launched to the market, especially in the United States and the Czech Republic. Worldwide automotive production declined by 5.8% to the end of September.

Grupo Antolin is strengthening its competitive position in the automotive industry due to the biggest programme of launches in its history. In total, the company has about 420 ongoing projects from all its Business Units.

Ebitda reached €307 million in the first nine months of 2019. The results have been achieved in a challenging market that has continued to be affected by major uncertainties, such as Brexit, and the fall of key markets, like China.

Business potential

Grupo Antolin is focused on taking advantage of the business opportunities offered by the mobility of the future. To achieve this objective, Antolin is working on a new strategic plan from 2020 onwards which will include, structure and continue many of the lines of work initiated in the last year. Thanks to this plan, the company wants to strengthen its presence among the largest manufacturers of vehicle interiors and lead the new mobility as well as continuing to be a key partner for OEMs by supporting them in the development of their future vehicles.

The new plan will continue progress in the Smart Integrator strategy, in which Antolin has been working for some time. This strategy is based on the development of more complex and higher value-added systems, which provide further functions including more technology, electronic and lighting solutions.

Grupo Antolin is increasing its capabilities in electronics and looking for key technology partners that provide added value to its products, such as the partnership with the Chinese group Hi-Rain in lighting solutions or with Walter Pack focused on the decorative parts business for automotive interiors.

As an example of the business opportunities offered by electric vehicles, the company has begun to supply components to the new ID.3, the first model of Volkswagen’s new electric car platform; and the Audi e-tron, for which Grupo Antolin is producing instrument panels, interior ambient lighting, decorative films and door panels. Grupo Antolin also supplies parts to Chinese models such as the Byton M-Byte, the Aiways U5, and the Nevs 9-3; as well as the Volvo XC40 electric. For this model, the company is producing a new storage system, located under the hood of the vehicle, among other components.
