Connectivity investment flattens as players begin leveraging their assets

As more connected vehicles go to market, investors are getting their first glimpse as to whether they have bet on the right horses. By Jack Hunsley

Today’s automotive industry sees huge potential in vehicle connectivity, with anything from infotainment to cyber security offering new revenue potential. For an industry which has only just begun building internal IT competency, though, maximising this potential is not straightforward. To accelerate development, the go-to move has been partnerships and acquisitions. However, as connectivity is the most mature of today’s industry megatrends, time is running out for those behind the development curve.
