The mobility sector’s evolution towards a connected, autonomous, shared and electric (CASE) future shows no signs of slowing down. Navigating these challenging waters takes deep pockets and good timing, not to mention in-depth knowledge in such diverse areas as artificial intelligence, battery electric propulsion and Big Data analytics. It’s a daunting evolution for traditional automakers.
According to industry authority Peter Mertens, now is the time to take bold and decisive action around future technologies, or these automakers could soon find themselves with no role to play. “Don’t take chances but do take calculated risks,” he tells Automotive World.
