Robots could play pivotal role in electric vehicle charging

The success of electric vehicles (EVs) is tied closely to the charging experience: if it is convenient and affordable, people will buy and use EVs. If not, pushing the e-mobility agenda suddenly becomes much harder. One angle under exploration by engineers in Austria is the use of robots to autonomously charge EVs while they are parked in locations such as multi-storey car parks, Park & Ride lots or larger business campuses.
