GEFCO, a global multimodal supply chain expert and leading provider of automotive logistics in Europe, has become Citroën’s logistics partner in Italy for its innovative AMI-100% ëlectric vehicle. Through the contract, GEFCO will manage transportation, post-production operations and warehousing, as well as convenient door-to-door delivery and handover to consumers.
GEFCO Italy will receive the Citroën AMI at its compound in Guasticce (Livorno), where all the post-production operations required to get the vehicles on the road are carried out by specialized personnel. In addition, the company will provide numerous storage facilities for Citroën AMI vehicles awaiting delivery across Italy.
The post-production phase includes washing, fluid checks, setup, installation of accessories, and fine-tuning of the MY AMI POP and MY AMI VIBEpack configurations. GEFCO achieves high levels of personalization by inserting additional decorative elements that enhance the vehicles’ exterior design, equipping AMI with its distinctive style. A lightweight quadricycle that is accessible to 14-year-olds with an AM license, the Citroën AMI meets new mobility needs with an easy and intuitive digital ecosystem from the discovery of the vehicle to its use.
Through the partnership, GEFCO will also provide home deliveries. All delivery drivers have been trained to distribute and explain the vehicle to enable customers to make immediate use of every feature. Added to Citroën’s fully digital purchase contracts, this ensures an unprecedented customer experience.
Fabrice Barthe, Managing Director of GEFCO Italy, said, “We are proud to be partnering with the Citroën AMI-100% electric, which has been designed to revolutionize the concept of urban mobility. GEFCO is managing transportation, configuration, customization and delivery direct to customers’ homes, respecting the latest health requirements. It is a pleasure to be part of this adventure and we are working alongside Citroën Italy to offer a truly exceptional customer journey!”
