Cupracontinues to deliver an effortless charging experience for its customers. The new “My Cupra App” now includes in a single application all charging services to simplify the entire user experience.
The updated My Cupra App centralises access to vehicle charging with the new Cupra charging service integrated directly into the app (it replaces the existing Cupra Easy Charging App). It delivers access to a public charging network of more than 700,000 stations from more than 800 operators across Europe, all operated through the My Cupra app.
“The updated My Cupra app puts functionality and an entire eco-system of charging options in the palm of the customers’ hands,” said Steven Stein, Head of Digital Cupra. “By streamlining the My Cupra App, the experience becomes effortless for users.”
Services and functionalities are now integrated in the “My Cupra App”, with an updated design, making it more seamless and user-friendly.
Users only need to subscribe to a tariff from the app and have access to the public charging service. From the app they can manage their plan, see charging history, find the nearest charging stations, get details on the number of available chargers, and arrive with the fastest route. Then, charging stations can be unlocked and the charging process started via the provided RFID card or with the app.
The Plug and Charge function – activated first through the My Cupra app – simplifies life with an electrified vehicle, as the car can charge in compatible public charging stations without the need to use a RFID card or their phones. It will provide a more seamless experience to our customers.
The App also gives access to a wealth of other functionality such as locating charging stations with the possibility to send the route directly to their vehicles. Additionally, users can check information about the desired charging station, such as opening hours, ratings from other users, types of cables, availability, etc.
Additionally, users can now manage their Cupra Chargers, remotely control them through the App, create charging routines for their cars, check charging status in real time and check history of their charging sessions at home.
The updated My Cupra app release coincides with the launch of the Cupra Charger 2, designed to make vehicle charging cost-effective.
The Cupra Charger 2 incorporates smart charging technology. Its intelligent approach can optimise charging profiles based on electricity prices and charging from a home’s solar energy, meaning charging costs can be reduced by up to 40%.
Specifically developed for Europe and tailored to 28 European markets, the Cupra Charger 2 will be available starting from autumn 2024.
