The new US President doubled down on his controversial trade and environmental policies. By Megan Lampinen

Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on 20 January 2025 marked his official assumption of duties and offered a platform to outline top priorities for the new administration. While wide-ranging, they are all ostensibly designed to “make America great again,” and plenty impact the automotive sector. Among those highlighted in Trump’s address are a move away from electric vehicles (EVs) and increased tariffs.
