Tesla, BMW and Chinese OEMs challenge EC tariffs   

Tesla, BMW, and several Chinese automakers are acting against the EU’s imposition of tariffs that harm their global business. By Stewart Burnett 

Tesla has joined BMW and several Chinese automotive brands in filing a challenge in court against the EU’s imposition of tariffs on electric vehicles (EVs) made in China. On 27 January 2024, the European Court of Justice posted a filing revealing that Tesla’s Shanghai gigafactory had opened a case against the European Commission (EC).
