Freyr abandons US$2.6bn Georgia battery plant, targets solar

Freyr will now be headquartered in Texas, with a majority of proceeds from selling the Georgia plot going to remunerate the state government. By Stewart Burnett

Clean energy technology firm Freyr has announced it will no longer be constructing its US$2.6bn Giga America battery plant in Coweta, Georgia. Instead, it will be pivoting away from battery production and focussing more towards solar energy.
