Continental targets R&D for latest jobs cuts

Continental will reduce its research and development headcount by 3,000, bringing its total jobs cuts since February 2025 to over 10,000. By Stewart Burnett

Another sign of struggle has emerged for Europe’s automotive industry: German supplier Continental announced on 18 February that it will cut a further 3,000 jobs by the end of 2026. The cuts will be in research and development and account for almost 10% of the division’s total workforce.
