Thailand car production slumped 24.6% in January 2025

While production volumes may be down substantially, Thailand is still pushing automakers to invest in local production. By Stewart Burnett

Vehicle production in Thailand has hit a slump: in January 2025 the country produced only 107,103 cars, a 24.6% decline year-over-year according to data shared by the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) on 24 February. The production decline was attributed to low domestic sales and lower export volumes.
