Trump doubles China tariffs, locks in date for Canada/Mexico

Trump’s latest slew of trade war escalations have been met with widespread opposition from other foreign leaders. By Stewart Burnett

In his latest decree on tariffs, President Trump announced he would impose an additional 10% duty on imports from China, on top of a current rate of 10% on all goods imposed earlier in February 2025. He also locked in a date for his promised-then-paused 25% tariffs on goods from neighbouring Mexico and Canada: 4 March.
