Stellantis has announced that European production of the next-generation Jeep Compass SUV will take place at the automaker’s plant in Melfi, Italy. The development follows years of dwindling production at the Melfi plant and repeated criticism from the Italian government that Stellantis is leaving its Italian production heritage behind.
