Nvidia’s Jensen Huang hails “era of physical AI” in auto

At GTC 2025, Nvidia emphasised safety and the far-reaching implications of physical AI through a new partnership with General Motors. By Will Girling

At Nvidia’s GTC 2025 conference, Chief Executive Jensen Huang announced that demand for graphics processing units (GPUs) has reached an “inflection point.” For automotive, that means incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into everything from vehicles to robotics, factories, and design processes. “We work with the car industry however it wants us to,” he stated during his 18 March keynote. “The era of physical AI is here.”
