ASEAN giants to return to growth in 2018

BMI Research’s Anna-Marie Baisden takes a look at the ASEAN automotive markets in 2018, with Vietnam and Thailand expected to be the standout performers

Asia Pacific will be the third-fastest growing region for vehicle sales in 2018, according to BMI Research forecasts, which show sales for the region rising 4.7%, ahead of the 3.6% forecast for global sales growth. Within the region, however, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) sub-region stands out yet again as an outperformer, with total vehicle sales forecast to grow 7.9%.
